On Saturday, the Order of Cimarřon went above and beyond for this year’s 2025 Wetumpka Mardi Gras festival and parade. The theme was the “Wizarding World of Wetumpka.”  Thousands of people showed up to attend and packed downtown Wetumpka.  They did not leave empty-handed!

Mardi Gras King Shon Graham and Queen Natacha Graham did a fantastic job walking the parade route and waving to all. Paula Sargent from The Gab Salon was Grand Marshal for the festivities.

Sargent said she was extremely honored to be selected as Grand Marshal this year.

She said, “Thanks, to everyone that came to cheer me on! A special thanks to Order of Cimarřon members and a special thank you to Natalie Perkins Scarborough. Loretta Colburn Foshee dressed me in such crazy beautiful attire! The good times definitely rolled! Diane White did such an amazing job with catering! Kammie Bullen Lee, the King cake was yummy! Janice Presnell let’s just say, blessing! All the family, friends, and amazing clients, your support does my heart good! Last but not least, my number one supporter Chip!”

If you were one of the lucky wizards that donated a canned good item, a special wizard wand was given at the Order of Cimarřon tent. Vendors stayed busy selling a wide range of food including Mardi Gras trinkets, toys, clothes, and delicious freeze dried candy!

During the parade, floats were transformed into the Wizarding World of Wetumpka. Many beads were thrown, rubber ducks, moon pies, ramen noodles, and stuffed animals that everyone enjoyed.

“My family and I look forward to coming to the parade each year,” said Rachel Mackall.

She continued, “We have been coming since the girls were in pre-school. This year my youngest (Madison,9) was especially excited about the Harry Potter theme, and she loved the wands she received for donating canned goods. My oldest (Olivia, 11) enjoyed riding on one of the Harry Potter themed floats. This is one of the best years to come because we all love Harry Potter and there were many cars and floats to see as well.

Thank you for all of the hard work that wrapped up this year’s Mardi Gras parade for the season!
