Elmore Autauga News

On Saturday, Prattville and area residents have a great opportunity to help out the Autauga Interfaith Care Center food bank, have a great meal, and take home an original work of art.

The Prattville Creative Arts Center is hosting the annual Art with a Heart event Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Do you have a great soup recipe? You can enter it! Simply call 334-595-0850 and join area businesses and individuals in a friendly competition.

This is Prattauga Art Guild’s annual fundraiser. It is designed to help replenish the shelves of the food bank after the holidays to continue to serve their community. Local restaurants donate soup, and teams compete for the Golden Bowl and Silver Ladle awards. A great bonus to this is the chance to view the amazing artwork from local artists which adorns the walls of the center.

A minimum donation of $10 gets you a bowl of soup and a handcrafted bowl made by Prattauga Art Guild artists. For more information, contact the Cultural Arts Office at (334) 595-0850.

Have you visited the Prattville Creative Arts Center? It is located at 342 S. Chestnut Street in downtown historic Prattville.

About AICC

The Autauga Interfaith Care Center is located at 163 West 3rd Street in Prattville. The phone number is (334) 365-4080. The website is www.aicccares.org

The AICC assists impoverished residents of Autauga County facing temporary difficulties. There are two types of families AICC serves. One is the family who relies on their own resources to support themselves. The aid AICC provides must be meaningful, and be expected to resolve the urgent setback.

The other type of family that receives help has very few support resources and finds itself in dire need on a consistent basis. The aid provided is expected to meet a critical, basic necessity.
