The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the grand opening ribbon cutting for the new breakfast and brunch spot, Waffle & Co., bringing sweet new beginnings to Millbrook.
Waffle & Co., owned by Lane and Asheley Minor, is located in the old Front Porch Grill location at 106 Deatsville Hwy in Millbrook, where the new breakfast centered eatery will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a full-service drive through or a full service sit-down experience, Minor confirmed.
“We wanted something that was family-friendly, but also has a drive-through, so it’s quick. Our turnover time is very fast, so we don’t have long wait times. You can stay and eat or be in and out in 30 to 45 minutes,” Lane said.
The Minors are also proud business owners of the The Social at Lake Martin at the Anchor Bay Marina. The Social is actually located in Eclectic and seats 240 people. The Minors also own The Bottom Bar and Grill in Prattville. The Minors also just opened their other Millbrook business Cask & Vine this past July, that has quickly become a local meeting spot and staple in Millbrook.
Waffle & Co. has been open for just over three weeks, Lane stated, where their goal is to provide a quality full sit-down or on the go breakfast spot for local residents.
“I really like waffles. This was kind of special because we wanted a full sit-down restaurant with breakfast food, and we wanted to offer something that was affordable for everybody,” Lane said.
Lane confirmed that his favorite item on his menu is the clucken pork waffle, which includes bacon, Conecuh sausage and chicken fingers on a Belgian waffle.
“We’re looking forward to having y’all in Millbrook. I hope you’re successful, and like I tell everyone, if the city can do anything to help you, or if you’ve got a problem anywhere or something like that, please feel free to call us,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley said.
In attendance was Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Brenda Dennis, Board Chairman Steve Mullis, Millbrook City Council President Michael Gay, Millbrook Economic Development Director Ann Harper and several Millbrook Chamber ambassadors, representatives and Chamber staff.
