The Autauga County Board of Education selected a new Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board of the board for the ACBOE regular school board meeting Tuesday evening.
While Dr. Tracye Strichik was absent due to a prior engagement, Jaime Jackson nominated Strichik for the role as Chairman. The Board members in attendance unanimously voted in favor of selecting Strichik for the role.
Kim Crockett moved to nominate Jamie Jackson as the Vice Chairman of the board. The Board members present unanimously voted in favor of selecting Jackson as the Vice Chairman.
The selections were then moved into action immediately where board members moved to reflect their newly appointed roles. With Strichik being absent for this meeting, Vice Chair Jackson acted as Chairman of the Board Tuesday evening.
Superintendent Lyman Woodfin thanked the former Chairman Billy Hollen and Vice Chairman Strichik for serving on the board to their fullest capacity this past year.
“Congratulations, board members. Thank you for making that as seamless as possible. I look forward to still working with everybody in their new roles and current ones. I appreciate all that you guys do,” Woodfin said.
