Five local cheerleading teams earned recognition and state competition bids at the recent AHSAA Regional Cheer Competition, showcasing their hard work, skill, and school spirit.
Elmore County High School Varsity Cheer, under the guidance of Coach Snelick, impressed judges and secured a bid to the state competition, where they’ll continue their pursuit of excellence.
Holtville Middle School Cheer, led by Coach Cooper, also earned a state bid and proudly took home a 5th place finish in the Regional competition. This young team showed poise and promise, establishing themselves as a strong presence in the middle school division.
Holtville High School Cheer, coached by Coach Woodruff, excelled in the highly competitive Coed division, securing both a bid to state and a 5th place finish. Their success is a testament to their dedication and teamwork.
Stanhope Elmore High School Cheer, directed by Coach Northcutt, placed 2nd in the Regional competition, earning both high scores and a state bid. Their impressive performance placed them among the top in their division, setting high expectations for the state event.
Wetumpka High School Cheer, under Coach Roberts, rounded out the group with a strong 3rd place finish in the Regional competition and earned a bid to state. Their skill and energy brought them to the podium and made their school and community proud.
Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Schools, praised the teams for their dedication and success. “We are incredibly proud of our cheerleaders, coaches, and their commitment to excellence,” Dennis said. “These teams have worked tirelessly, and their achievements at the Regional competition reflect not only their talent but also their determination and teamwork. We look forward to supporting them at the state level and celebrating all they’ve accomplished.”
