In a tough season opener on their home field, Holtville High School fell to Trinity Presbyterian, 21-10. The game marked the debut of new Head Coach Cory Lee, who has stepped into the role after the retirement of Coach Jason Franklin that spent the last seven years coaching Holtville football. Although the Bulldogs fought hard throughout the game, they couldn’t overcome Trinity, who capitalized on key moments to secure the win.
Despite the loss, there were promising signs for the Bulldogs under Coach Lee’s leadership. The defense held firm for much of the game, and the offense showed flashes of potential that, with time, can develop into a strong unit.
Holtville High School’s community is hopeful that Coach Lee’s leadership will continue to build a competitive program. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back next week and bring the lessons learned from this hard-fought opener onto the field when they play at Shelby County next week.
