Local PCA graduate wins ACCC Softball Player of the Year

We are thrilled to announce our very own Jersee Carter has won the Alabama Community College Conference or ACCC DI Softball Player of the Year!

Carter batted an insane .482 with a OBP (on base percentage) of .560 from the leadoff spot! With the win, Carter becomes the 1st overall Player of the Year award winner for our program in over ten years!

Carter graduated from Prattville Christian Academy in 2022 and is a sophomore this year at Coastal Alabama majoring in mechanical engineering. Carter has played for the lady panthers at PCA since the 7th grade as an outfielder with a career fielding percentage of .987 at PCA. 

The Coastal Alabama softball program had five individuals placed on the First Team All-Conference, Carter being one of them. 

In the ACCC tournament the Coastal Alabama Coyotes took a tough loss from Shelton State, loosing 5-7 last Friday.  

Coastal Alabama Community College plays in the ACCC, in the National Junior College Athletic Association, NJCAA. Member colleges of the NJCAA are permitted to participate in any division of a sponsored sport of the association. A member college is permitted to participate across multiple divisions in various sports should it feel it is in the best interest of the institution. Every four years member colleges are required to declare the sports it will sponsor and what division they intend to participate in, according to the NJCAA website.
