The Sylvan Learning Center of Wetumpka held their Grand Opening on April 30th, 2023. The business is located at 617 South Main Street in Wetumpka. Since opening over a month ago, the business has been thriving with many students needing tutoring or educational assistance. The center can help with all subjects of learning.
It also offers 1:1 ratio with one teacher and one student or 3:1 ratio with three students to one teacher. The owners, Laquayna and Robert Henley, saw a need for the children in the Elmore County area. Children as young as five years old to college age students can attend the Sylvan Learning Center for the extra help they need.
The Henley’s son, Robert Jr., received services at a Sylvan Learning Center. He was so excited to attend and was amazed with the goals he accomplished. This was the catalyst for the up Henley’s to open up a center closer to home. They found the perfect business location in the Elmore County area. Sylvan Learning Center territory for the Henleys is from Wetumpka to Auburn, AL.
The Henley’s goal for themselves is to do more for the community where they live. They want to one day expand their business and offer satellite locations to make it more convenient for families that live far away. They also would love to collaborate more with the families, teachers, and children that are a part of the Sylvan Learning Center.
“We believe that education is essential and longevity,” said the Henley’s. They continued, “We also understand that our services will be a benefit for parents who work. Due to schedule conflicts, they really don’t always have time to help with homework or go over lessons. That’s when we step in as advocates and our wonderful staff, to fulfill the needs to have an outlet resource at Sylvan Learning Center of Wetumpka. We strive for each step greater than before for our children, families and our growing community.”
Laquayna and Robert Henley have been married for six years. The Henley’s have two sons – Robert Jr., age six and Raylen, age three.
Sylvan Learning Center of Wetumpka is offering a Summer Program until the first week of August. For four hours of learning, price is $150.00 each week. Enrollment fee of $50 and a $95 Assessment fee will need to be paid in the beginning for enrollees. Financial options are available as well.
Sylvan Learning Center of Wetumpka is HIRING FOR ALL POSITIONS. They offer part-time or full-time positions. Teachers also must have a Bachelors Degree to be qualified to teach at the center. Please email: [email protected] for inquiries.
