PRATTVILLE, Ala. – International Paper’s Prattville Mill recently awarded $63,000 in International Paper Foundation grants to 12 local organizations, demonstrating the Company’s commitment to education, hunger, health & wellness, disaster relief and initiatives that improve our planet.
“We are pleased to support local organizations in their efforts to make a difference,” said Mill Manager Doug Black. “Our company cannot succeed if our communities do not succeed, and these grants are an investment in our family, friends and neighbors.”
Local community organizations and their projects that were awarded grants for 2022 are:
• Alabama Institute for Education in the Arts – Summer Institute for Pre-K to 12th Grade Educators
• Alabama Shakespeare Festival – SchoolFest Matinee Program
• Autauga Interfaith Care Center – Feed Our Neighbors
• Autauga Prattville Public Library – Easy Children’s Books
• Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center – Child Abuse Prevention Community Outreach
• Family Support Center – Family Programs Matching Assistance
• Montgomery Area Council on Aging – Meals on Wheels
• Montgomery Area Food Bank – School Pantry & Backpack Program
• Service Dogs Alabama – Service Dog Training
• That’s My Child – Teen to Work Program
• The Liberty Learning Foundation – Hands-On Liberty: Civic Education Programs for Students
• The Samaritan Counseling Center – Jeremiah 29:11 Client Assistance Fund
Grants were determined after careful review by a committee of local team members. Recommendations are subsequently reviewed by the International Paper Foundation’s grants committee, which then must be confirmed and ratified by the Foundation’s board of trustees.
The Prattville Mill awards Foundation grants annually. Organizations are invited to take an eligibility assessment at www.ipgiving.com to see if their program is eligible to apply for funding.
