The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a homicide and seeks the public’s help in identifying a subject wanted for questioning, Laderrius Calhoun.

On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at about 9:59 p.m., police responded to the 3000 block of Fairwest Place, Montgomery, Alabama, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, police located the victim, adult male, Ronnie Phifer, who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Phifer was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Montgomery Police Investigator’s released a photo of, Laderrius Calhoun, described as a black male, 28 years of age, wanted for questioning involving the homicide investigation of Phifer.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Calhoun pawned a piece of jewelry that belonged to the victim. The jewelry was pawned the day after the murder.
