FROM THE ELMORE COUNTY COMMISSION

As part of the National Association of Counties (NACo) National County Government Month, the Elmore County Commission will host senior high school students from across the county to increase awareness of the role and responsibility of county government. The National Association of Counties (NACo) National County Government Month 2022 theme is “Counties THRIVE” which focuses on Technology, Health, Readiness, Infrastructure, Vulnerable population, and Economic growth.
We will spotlight the Welcome Center from Millbrook, the Elmore County Food Pantry, and Family Sunshine Center. This event serves as a great opportunity to familiarize students with various county agencies and their functions.
Activities:
Special presentations from Welcome Center from Millbrook, Elmore County Food Pantry, and Family Sunshine Center
Sheriff’s Department Special Operations demonstration
Jaws of Life demonstration by the Wetumpka Fire Department
Public Works Department equipment demo & discussion
Touring educational booths hosted by 15 county agencies
Registering to vote with the Board of Registrars
Attending a County Commission Work Session and Business Meeting
This will include Elmore County Commission, countywide elected officials, Elmore County senior high school students
