James Cobb pled guilty today in an Elmore County courtroom on two counts of sexual misconduct involving children under the age of 12.
The plea and sentence is in reference to Cobb’s original arrest in September of 2020.
As part of the plea agreement, Cobb admitted his guilt before Circuit Court Judge Sibley Reynolds. He was sentenced to two years of probation and must attend court ordered, mandatory counseling. Cobb will be a registered sex offender in the state of Alabama.
Assistant District Attorney Amanda Johnson told the EAN the plea agreement was made with the approval of the victims’ family members. “After extensive meetings with the victims and their parents, the parents made the decision that they did not want their children to have to testify in court, and agreed to the plea agreement.”
