ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS
Back in October, our Eclectic reporter Margie DiGiovanni shared with our readers the story of her daughter Jaimie. The two live in Eclectic, and Jaimie has Down Syndrome. Jaimie absolutely loves dressing as a Witch for Halloween, and always hopes for a lot of Trick or Treaters.
She had more than she ever bargained for this past Halloween as so many of our amazing readers made the trip to Eclectic to visit with her.
But now Jaimie needs prayers. A very sudden illness hit her this past week. She is now in ICU at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, and the outlook is very grim. She has bilateral, viral pneumonia. Antibiotics are not helping. Her lungs are inflamed and doctors are pushing 100 percent oxygen. However, Margie has shared with us that despite rigorous treatments Jaimie’s condition is deteriorating. On Monday, the hospital will remove Jaimie from oxygen, and her chance of survival is almost non-existent.
But this is where I want to remind everyone that Doctors Have Limits. God Does Not.
Please lift up Margie and Jamie in prayer, or thought right now.
Margie’s son will be back with her tomorrow, but right now she is alone at the hospital, other than the amazing staff that have been very devoted. I have reached out to some friends in that area to stop by the hospital and pray. Bless them.

From Margie: “If this is the end for Jaimie, please tell your readers that this past Halloween their visits, messages and comments meant the world to Jaimie. She was happier on that day than they will ever know. She went to bed with the biggest smile on her face. If this is the end for her, I want them to know how thankful we are for them. They showed so much love to Jaimie.”
Margie posted to her social media page about Jaimie’s condition, with a photo of a Unicorn and balloons, all Jaimie’s favorite colors. “The nurses brought it in just in case Jaimie wakes up,” Margie said. “They want that to be the first thing she sees if she wakes up. ”
We at the Elmore/Autauga News have come to love Margie and Jaimie so much in the short time Margie has been writing for us. Jaimie and Margie are inseparable, and we enjoyed Jaimie’s visits to the office for our staff meetings. She is full of love and joy and no doubt so many in our area have come to love her as we do.

Please, Please, Please pray for this precious young woman and Margie. Below is a photo of the Unicorn and balloons provided by the nurses at Flowers Hospital in Dothan in case she wakes up. Bless them.
