A Breakfast with Santa event at the Grandview YMCA was held on Saturday December 4th 2021.
This year marks 11 years that the Grandview YMCA has held this event. Last year the tradition did not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Grandview YMCA is located at 4700 Camp Grandview Road in Millbrook, Alabama.
Bill Myers, the executive Director for the Grandview YMCA, was in charge of the Breakfast with Santa event.
Everyone who wanted to come to this event could sign up online and register, pay $5 and hold a spot to make sure enough food was provided.
The families that attended enjoyed a delicious breakfast provided by the staff and volunteers. They also enjoyed seasonal crafts and were able to see and talk to Santa and take pictures.
Bill Myer’s wife, Brittany, captured the sweet memories of each child with Santa by taking professional photos with each family having a copy.
During breakfast, Bill Myers son, Weston Myers, played beautiful music on his saxophone. Weston is a senior at Stanhope Elmore High School.
Once breakfast was over, children and parents enjoyed crafts to take home. When Santa arrived the photos and visiting began with a flurry. Over 60 people attended the fun, annual event.
“I appreciate all the families for coming out to this event. It’s always held the first Saturday in December. We want the community to get into the holiday spirit so we kicked off the season by putting on this fun event,” said Myers.
On December 17th the YMCA will have a Parent Night Out called “Drop and Shop!” It’s from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for any school aged children. The cost is only $25 for members and $30 for non-members. There is a $5 discount for siblings. Everyone who is able can take advantage of this opportunity to do some last minute Christmas shopping and let the staff at the Grandview YMCA take great care of your children. Dinner and crafts are provided.
