FROM PRATTVILLE YMCA
Willis Bradford was the first Executive Director and CEO of the Prattville YMCA. He served in this role from 1963-2012.
Mr. Bradford shared stories of running the first programs of the YMCA out of the trunk of his car. He was instrumental in leading the Prattville YMCA from being an upstart branch to the largest small town Y in the country, and eventually transforming Prattville into a flourishing community through the presence of the Y spirit and his involvement on many other community boards over his years. After his retirement, he continued to serve the Prattville YMCA on the Board of Managers and Board of Trustees.
The legacy of Mr. Bradford reaches across the country and his impact touched thousands of lives. Willis Bradford passed away on November 29th. His humble leadership and godly character will not only be missed by the Prattville YMCA, but also by the community of Prattville and beyond.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4th, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Prattville. A reception will follow the service at the church.
