Labrandon Tyre – An Elmore County Middle School Teacher Well Loved and Remembered

Elmore County Middle School in Eclectic, Alabama lost a teacher who was well-loved by his students and peers. Principal Mark McGhee spoke highly of Lebrandon Tyre as a man dedicated to the children with whom he worked.

Tyre was known for having excellent rapport with the students.  If they had a problem, he took time to listen.

Although his primary position was that of seventh-grade English teacher, Tyre also worked as assistant volleyball coach and Beta Club sponsor. He loved being involved wherever needed to support the school and career of his choice. From Union Springs initially, he moved to Wetumpka and found a career home in Eclectic’s middle school.

Complications after surgery ended a bright and promising future. Many teachers have been favorites over the years, but seldom do all children in a school speak highly of one as they do of Tyre.

“He will be missed.  Finding someone to come into the classroom after him will be difficult,” Principal McGhee stated.

Students and administrators alike mourn his passing, but all are better for having known him they said.

Arrangements for Tyre were held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
