The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency was involved in a stolen vehicle pursuit this morning along I-65 that ended in Prattville, after wrecks, and a lot of near misses.
Below is the official release from ALEA:
MONTGOMERY POST – At approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division attempted to stop a stolen 2008 Ford Expedition. The pursuit began on Interstate 65 near the 219 mile marker.
The pursuit continued into the Prattville City Limits where the Expedition struck several vehicles in an attempt to elude law enforcement. Officers with the Prattville Police Department assisted ALEA by utilizing spike strips which deflated the vehicle’s tires.
Shortly after spiking the Expedition, it crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Main Street inside the Prattville City Limits. The vehicle was occupied by six juveniles, an 11-year-old, 12-year-old, two 13-year-olds and two 14-year-olds. The 14-year-old driver will be charged with Receiving Stolen Property First-Degree, Assault First-Degree, Speeding, Attempting to Elude and Reckless Endangerment.
Nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.
