The City of Prattville is ready to return to some form of normalcy with their 2021 Summer Farmers Market, which will take place every Saturday starting June 5– Aug. 28 from 7 a.m. – 12 noon at “The Grove” on Doster Road across from Pratt Park.

The event will feature freshly grown produce by local growers, baked goods, honey, casseroles, salads, soaps, and herbs. All growers come from within a 20-mile radius of Autauga County, says Market Coordinator Barbara Simpson.

Simpson said the market will start with an estimated of 11-15 vendors. They typically try to keep the market “relatively small” so that all growers can profit from the event.

“We want to support our local farmers because this is what they do for a living. It’s important to support as many people as we can, but we also want to keep it on the smaller side so that all of our vendors can do well,” Simpson said.

There will also be live music for the market, and Simpson is hopeful that local performers will be able to take the stage.

“We have local growers here, but as we shift to holding live events again, that gives us the opportunity to bring music back as well. We’re hopeful that we’ll have some artists from the area performing because we always want to promote our local talent. There’s quite a following for our bands here,” Simpson said.

The market will also feature reusable bags, T-shirts, and have giveaways, while supplies last. Cost is free and open to public.
