Funeral services are being held Thursday for Boyd Hodge, 52, of Millbrook who died tragically in Verbena Monday. The accident occurred at a Central Alabama Electric Cooperative facility. Hodge was a Journeyman for CAEC for 24 years. He graduated from Stanhope Elmore High School in 1986. The accident remains under investigation.
Hodge is being remembered as a very giving person, who worked to organize fishing tournaments for charity. That service will be recognized by Marbury High School this weekend when they have their 14th Annual Marbury Bass Classic.

“This Saturday, at the 14th Annual Marbury Bass Classic, we will pay tribute to Boyd Hodge. Boyd fished in our Bass Classic for many years. He tragically lost his life Aug. 17. This year our Big Bass Award will be renamed the “Boyd Hodge Big Bass.” Boyd was a big part of our tournament for many years, and will be greatly missed.”
The Classic is hosted by Marbury High School Baseball and will begin at 4 a.m. at Cooters Pond Park.

Obituary for Mr. Larry Boyd Hodge Jr.
Mr. Larry Boyd Hodge, Jr. age 52, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 17, 2020. Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Brookside with Chaplain Harvey Starling and Rev Terry Mullins officiating.
The interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens.
Boyd worked for Central Alabama Electric Co for 24 years and also served in the United States Army. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Crowder Hodge; daughter, Stephanie Hodge Wright; sons ,Timmy Herman(Brooke); Dylan Peterson(Karyn); Carter Peterson; parents, Larry and Sara Hodge; brother, Hal Hodge (Lauren); sisters, Luci Davis; Lynne Moody; Sherron Nelson(Ronald); grandchildren, Hunter, Anniston, Wyatt, Timmer and Mallie whom loved their “BoPop” and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Ted Arkuszeski, Mark Dismukes, Todd Clark, Scott Rumsey, Tom Howard and Buddy Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be Central Alabama Electric Co lineman and the Fishers of Men, AL Central.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fishers of Men FOM, AL Central, P.O. Box 1711, Millbrook, AL 36054 or to Outdoor Friends Forever, 821 Coosa County Road 91, Alexander City, AL 35010. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2020 one hour prior to his service at the funeral home.
